Sunlight fell between the leaves, dancing across the floor in intricate patterns, the waters of the river gurgle in song as they ripple across the rocks, the song of the birds merely adding to the rhapsody of the evergreen.
A large stag grazes within a clearing, the animal keeping a clear gaze on the shadowed forest with its almond shaped eyes. A branch snaps suddenly, the stag gives flight bounding over root and between trunk; the forest becoming but a blur as it rushes by. Two a shadowed figures give chase to the stag, their feet moving swiftly giving them an aire of grace about the, both leaping and tumbling as if mere dancers within the green theatre. The two leap simultaneously, piercing the air with the flight of an arrow, the first piercing the throat of the noble creature, the second burying itself within the thight of the stag. The creature kicks an groans before falling to a heap on the leaf-strewn floor. One of the two figures approaches, taking a firm grip of the creatures head before violently wrenching it too the side snapping its neck.
‘Well done Brother, you perhaps need to work on your observation, your heavy steps might have lost us this hunt’ a female voice sounds from the shaded areas.
‘I shall be more careful in future sister, please forgive me this time, a male voice speaks calmly and apologetic in manner,
‘Always apologetic brother, you know I would forgive you without question’, the female voice lets out a little laugher before continuing; ‘Let us return to father before he begin to worry brother’. The female figure turns wandering towards the river. The other figure finishes tying the stags limbs before quickly attempting to catch up with the female.
