"Welcome to RoTD. A world immersed in the infection that brings the dead back to haunt and stalk the living. Here there resides two primary islands that have been traversable. Erith the land where the infection has not touched, but is relitivly bare other than whatthe current survivors have built, and Ishtal land f the spreading carnage that is the infection. Here your goal is not only to survive, but to aid in the recreation in a place to live for all man.. and non infected kind.. or if you desire.. try to rule it."
- Note - The Module of RoTD is still undergoing various changes and will be ever evolving as the storyline as well as suggestions progress.
To keep track of the latest changes, check the update section on these forums. rotdnwn.proboards42.com/index.cgi
The module is based off a unique skill system that overrides many of the NWN skill sets.
There is the ability to construct lodging and buildings if the proper materials are found on ishtal.
Please take heed that many of the professions are still being worked on. At this point the following Professions might put you at a slght disadvantage due to their lack of completeness.
Tailoring (Primary Skill) Alchemy (Primary Skill) Farming (Secondary Skill)
Also note that Mining and Lumberjacking (Secondary Skills) requires the use of a Martial weapon. (Pickaxe and Handaxe respectively) If you are a class that does not possess the Weapon Proficiency: Martial, please be wary of choosing these skills. If you have chosen these secondary skills in hindsight, do not despair. It is possible for your character to learn the martial weapon feat with our alternate leveling system (Advancement Points).
Check under post Advancement System 1.0 rotdnwn.proboards42.com/index.cgi?board=updates&action=display&thread=342
The magic base is unique on the module and is useable by any class... mana/spell knowledge permitting. Spells become more powerful with use.

When starting a new character take the above information into account also the following are steps that will help you enter the world of RoTD.
After character creation and on first login. 1: Observe your inventory in it you will find three flower items Skill Chooser / Bonus chooser / bonus Chooser 2: Use the Skill chooser and establish a minor back ground for your character as far as previous skills and the like. As stated be-for alchemy/Tailoring/Farming will put you at a disadvantage for now 3:Use the bonus items. These are items that you bring with you while escaping the infection and getting to erith for the first time. be cautious with your choice as it will be a critical choice at the start. 4: Be sure to quick bar your spells from your active magic container if you have any. If you are a character that gets a special bonus items ( barbarian, paladin, monk ) be sure to quick bar those as well 5: Make sure you understand that Food and Water are a NECESSITY in this game so know where your canteen is and the like. 6: Quick bar your Database item so you can see your infection rate and hunger/thirst level is at. 7: summon the courage to step through the gates that will bring you into the folds of RoTD

Searching All over Ishtal there are spots that when approached you will be notified that " There is searchable stuff here" In your inventory there is a magnifying glass looking item there that the reccomendation is you quickbar it. When you see that notification you can use this item to find items that have been left by the previous inhabitants of ishtal. Mind you you start with 5 and 5 only. Once you have used them you must rest due to the fatigue of searching hastily and most likely while under the durress of the biters. Resting In RoTD the rest option has been disabled. To gain HP and Mana all you must do is stay alive. Though you can hasten this proccess by findinga safe zone such as Erith or some of the safe areas on Ishtal. The safe areas will refill your Hp faster as well as allow those with special skills ( barb/paly/monk) to gain their skills back. one of the Largest benifits is that in these resting areas is it will slowly regenerate yoru ability to search. Crafting Depending on what skill you chose at the start of the game your character might have the ability to craft items and weapons that other survivors might find usefull. How crafting works is first Instructions are neccessary. Yes you might have been a smith or a woodworker or tailorer befor the otubreak but all craftsmans keep notes and temperatures and the like. The escape to Erith was a hastey one thus those crafting pages have been left sparsed throughout Ishtal. Once you find these instructions you can then make yoru attempts at crafting the item the instructions instruct you to make. Mind you the more difficult the item the more resources and harder the craft will be. A reccomendation would be to start with something small and work yoru way up. Sparsed throughout Erith are crafting stations. These can also be created by players. These stations are what you will use to your particular craft. Forge = Turns iron ore into iron ingot Proccessor = Turns metal weapons into ingots Woodworking table - allows the crafting of wood worked items Crafting Anvil = allows crafting of metal worked items Repair anvil = Allows the repairing of items Loom = allows tailoring worked items Alchemist table = allows alchemist worked items TO BE CONTINUED Fellow Vets please feel free to add to this post about things that might make a nub more confident in their voyage into the dead mebbe when all this is done, it might show up on a sign in the OOC Start room. And the newbies can love us forever... or least till they lose their first 5 chars ^.^

Players will need to eat and drink regularly to stay alive. Using the Database item will display your character's current hunger and thirst level. Do not let these drop to 0.Food & HungerFoods will restore your hunger level by an amount depending on the food type. Snack Sidedish Meal Hearty Meal Feast Banquet Snacks restore the lowest while banquet restores the most. Most findable food will not have an enchantment... but if you are lucky enough to find one, simply eating it will grant you the magical properties for a duration. Depending on the class, the effect duration will be different: Snack: 9 minutes Sidedish: 12 minutes Meal: 15 minutes Hardy Meal: 21 minutes Feast: 27 minutes Banquet: 33 minutes Limits: For magical foods, your character must have under 85% hunger to gain the effect bonus. Otherwise you will be too full to enjoy the meal. This cap increases by 1 for every point of constitution above 10. Example: 14 constitution: Effects are given when eating at 89% hunger or lessMagical food effects will not stack with each other. If you have the magic effect of one food active, eating another magic food will remove the old effect and then add the new one. Food effects will be dispelled after a server resets. Drinks and ThirstFor the moment, the only drink at the moment is water. To drink water, use the canteen item in your inventory. Canteens can hold up to 5 drinks of water that will restore 15 points of thirst each. Canteens can be refilled at several waterside places by using the canteen when it is empty.
